I really enjoyed the passion and conviction in her voice when speaking on these issues. She kept it professional throughout and yet it made a lasting impact on me. I truly believe that understanding the lived experiences of other people is the first step in generating positive change. She shared that throughout her life there will come many points where she thinks she has overcome the racial barrier, but then something will happen to remind her that she hasn't.
